What is the Storigami?
The Storigami is a silicone/polypropylene cutting board designed to allow users to easily chop ingredients, assemble meals, and can be effortlessly folded up to create a practical storage container and easily secured with a lid. The Storigami is microwaveable, BPA free, dishwasher safe, and perfect for everyday use.
The lid of our product is made out of food grade silicone that stretches over the body of Storigami to create a vacuum sealed lid. This ensures zero leakage when transporting food in our product. The lid is also eco-friendly, non-toxic, and manufactured in a dust-free plant. It’s FDA approved and has LFGB and SGS certification.
Our top layer material can hold up from -40 degree to 200 degrees, therefore it is perfectly microwavable as well as in the refrigerator, with about 1.5 mm thickness. It is deemed safe by the FDA and it breaks down easily in environment, often recyclable.

The bottom layer material can hold up from -40 degree to 230 degrees, therefore it is perfectly microwavable as well as in the refrigerator, with about 1.2 mm thickness. It is deemed safe by the FDA and it breaks down easily in environment, often recyclable.
The Middle was Just Right
After researching materials and similar competitor products, we found it best to use polypropylene for our middle layer. Originally, we had Chinese suppliers to deliver our polypropylene to us. The problem with that supplier, similar to our other raw material suppliers is the large lead time. We searched for local suppliers for all of our direct materials, however, the only material we found to be cheaper was our polypropylene layer. On average, Chinese suppliers were charging roughly $1.50 per set for the polypropylene. We found a local supplier just under 15 miles away in Dayton, Ohio charging $1.05 per set of three for the sizes we required. We will be getting this from MSC Direct, acquired through ThomasNet.com. After finding this option, it was a very easy decision to choose this supplier over a Chinese supplier.
